Roy Wells’ Collage of Music

"RWCM” is an umbrella term for all the musical activities engaged in by, and musical networks linked to, Steve Barbe. These include RWCM's core projects, such as Tingle Factory's music and videos,  community music/music in the community projects such as LETSwing and community scrapbands, plus other kinds of music facilitation and workshops.

The demarcation between all these activities is a bit arbitrary, and in reality there is often overlap between them. E.g. “community scrapband” activities using junk in the playing of rhythms is sometimes combined with African drumming using actual drums (in “Community Music Treasure Chest.)

Steve Barbe prefers to use "RWCM" to describe all these activities, rather than just his own name as a sole trader. The name is notional and has no legal status, but it reflects the broad and collaborative nature of the work. It is also very confusing, which is a big plus. The confusion is made even bigger by the fact that Roy Wells' Collage of Music is also the name of Tingle Factory's CD.
